Once again, the best has been saved til last. We’ve had an absolutely gorgeous day today. The weather has been great and the scenery superb.

its also been a day of contrasts. Coastal views this morning and moor valleys this afternoon.

So after breakfast we headed west on the coastal path for a few miles, dipping in and out of combes, along woodland paths until we cut up and over the top into the East Lynn valley near Oare church (as per Lorna Doone)

From there it was a very pleasant journey down stream past Malmsmead and Brendon. After lunch there was more of the same until we reached Watersmeet where we had a well earned ice cream. A few more miles along the river saw us reach our destination. Lynmouth again but this time via a different route. Sad to think it’s over already. Seems like we were just warming up.

, though if you saw and heard  us trying to get up out of the sofa just now you’d probably decide like us that’s just as well.

So this is us, signing off until next time. Thanks for reading.
